MLB Rumors: Braves & Rays Linked To Trade

Facing a disappointing 9–13 start to the 2025 season, the Atlanta Braves are being linked to Tampa Bay Rays infielder Brandon Lowe as a potential trade target, according to Jacob Mountz of FanSided

Lowe, a left-handed power hitter with defensive versatility, could offer Atlanta a much-needed boost at second base or in the corner outfield.

With the Braves struggling offensively—just 27 home runs and a .693 team OPS—Mountz believes Lowe “should be a high priority on Alex Anthopoulos’ shopping list.”

Lowe has battled injuries in recent years but still managed 21 home runs in both 2023 and 2024, and he's opened this season with three homers through his first 77 plate appearances.

While his on-base numbers have been modest, his power represents a clear upgrade over several spots in the Braves' current lineup.

Mountz suggests a trade package could center around right-hander Drue Hackenberg, the Braves' No. 5 prospect, along with corner infielder David McCabe.

With both the Braves and Rays off to underwhelming starts, a deal could make sense for both sides.
