Former World Champion DFA'd After Just 2 Days With Dodgers
Well, that didn't last long.
After just two days, and four at-bats, Eddie Rosario's time with the Los Angeles Dodgers has come to an end. They have designated him for assignment, as Shohei Ohtani has returned from paternity leave.
Dodgers make it official. Shohei Ohtani is back. Eddie Rosario was DFA’d.

Rosario had one single in four at-bats with LA, but he hit the ball hard a couple of times. He had signed a minor league deal this spring, and at Triple-A, was tearing it up, batting .339 with six doubles, two homers and 12 RBIs in 14 games.
If he makes it through waivers, and then accepts the assignment, he could head back to Oklahoma City next week following today's DFA. Rosario's other option is to decline the assignment and head back out into free agency to try to find another team willing to give him a shot.
Rosario didn't break camp with the team out of Spring Training, essentially losing out to Michael Conforto, who has thus far been batting just .203. But Rosario had a dreadful year himself in the majors last season, hitting just .175 with a .531 OPS for the Washington Nationals and the Atlanta Braves.
Rosario was known as a Dodgers-killer after his performance against them in the 2021 NLCS while he was with Atlanta. Rosario hit .583 in that series with three homers and nine RBIs, good enough to win the NLCS MVP. The Braves went on to win the World Series.
In a ten-year career, Rosario has a .250 average, and an .802 OPS with an impressive 120 OPS+.
