MLB Rumors: Insider Names 3 Dodgers As Trade Candidates
In his early 2025 MLB trade deadline preview, Schoenfield named pitchers Bobby Miller, Ben Casparius, and Justin Wrobleski as potential trade candidates. With a 40-man roster technically sitting at 47 players due to the 60-day injured list rules, Schoenfield noted that once veterans like Clayton Kershaw return, Los Angeles will need to clear spots — and young arms could be the price.
Dodgers Facing Roster Crunch as Trade Deadline Draws Closer
Schoenfield wrote, “If they do improve the bench — and they should — that could mean trading someone from the 40-man roster, such as one of the above pitchers, rather than a low-level prospect.”
Miller, once projected as a future rotation staple, has struggled with command and consistency this year, while Casparius and Wrobleski have emerged as useful but expendable depth options. Moving one or more of them could help the Dodgers strengthen their bench or add another impact bat for the postseason run.

Although no deal is imminent, the Dodgers’ aggressive history under Andrew Friedman suggests they won’t hesitate if the right opportunity arises.
With names like Luis Robert Jr. already linked to Los Angeles earlier this month, and ongoing injuries forcing creative roster maneuvers, Miller, Casparius, and Wrobleski may find themselves at the center of trade talks before July’s deadline.
