Mystery Illness Continues To Torture Mookie Betts: 'My body is eating itself'
The Los Angeles Dodgers are without superstar Mookie Betts as they start the season, as he is facing a mystery illness. Betts continues to throw up every bit of food he eats, and there's no diagnosis right now.
My body’s just kind of eating itself. Literally every time I fuel my body, I throw it up, and I don’t know what to do about it.

The ailment began two days before the team left for Tokyo to start the season with two games in Japan, but it hasn't let up. He said he has lost roughly around 23 pounds over the last two weeks.
"I don't think anybody really knows," said Betts, explaining that doctors have been unable to diagnose it. All of his vitals have come back clean.
He added that he is “scared to eat... I don't know what to do.
"To play a major league game and not be able to eat, it's hard to fathom."
Betts says he's "tired of throwing up... tired of sitting, not playing."
The eight-time All-Star and perennial MVP candidate missed a big chunk of games last season with a broken hand, but has usually been very durable during the course of his 11-year career.
In his five years with the Dodgers, Betts has hit .284 with a .902 OPS and a 145 OPS+. In 116 games in 2024, he hit 19 homers to go with 75 RBIs and an .863 OPS.
He was a scratch for the first two games of the season in Japan against the Chicago Cubs, both Dodgers victories.
