Juan Soto Says "There Were 5 Frontrunners To Sign Me"
Believe it or not, there were teams that offered Juan Soto more than the $765 million that he got from the New York Mets. Really. He said so himself.
In addition, Soto outlined that he had five teams that were finalists competing for his services:

- LA Dodgers
- Toronto Blue Jays
- Boston Red Sox
- New York Yankees
- New York Mets (spoiler: They won the sweepstakes)

Regarding this, per sources with direct knowledge, it was clear that multiple teams, including Boston, had a willingness to exceed high offer if they knew Soto would agree. Ultimately he chose Mets in part because of family-friendly vibe that Alex Cohen has established. https://t.co/zCcuGXxL4V

Martino said that the Yankees offered a 16-year, $760 million offer compared to the Mets' 15-year deal. He cited multiple reports indicating that Boston's final offer for Soto was around $700 million, as was the Blue Jays (in U.S. dollars, we assume).
The Dodgers' final offer, apparently, brought up the rear, at $600 million, per The Athletic.
