Arizona Diamondbacks Sign 6-Year Veteran Pitcher
Beeks, 30, spent last season with the Colorado Rockies, posting a 5.15 ERA over 69 innings, but his peripherals suggest better days ahead. The deal includes a $3.25 million club option for 2025 with no buyout.
Arizona had previously claimed Beeks off waivers in November but non-tendered him shortly after, making this a reunion on more favorable terms for both sides.

Diamondbacks GM Mike Hazen praised Beeks’ versatility, saying, “He gives us length and a different look from the left side. He’s a competitor who can handle various roles.”
Beeks is expected to play a role in bridging middle and late innings, especially given Arizona’s recent emphasis on deepening its bullpen for another postseason push.
With a solid mix of a cutter, changeup, and fastball, Beeks has the potential to be a reliable weapon, particularly against left-handed hitters, where he’s held opponents to a .222 average over the past two seasons.

While Beeks isn’t a flashy addition, his ability to eat innings and induce weak contact makes him a decent addition. If he finds the consistency that eluded him in Colorado, Arizona could have landed a bargain with plenty of upside.
