Turner, who won a World Series with the 2020 LA Dodgers, has a lifetime .285 batting average with an .821 OPS (124 OPS+).
The Cubs have said all offseason that they were looking for added infield depth, including, importantly, an insurance policy for 23-year-old rookie Matt Shaw at third base, in case he needs some support.
The 2-time All-Star, one-time NLCS MVP, Roberto Clemente winner, and 2020 World Series Champ is a pretty good way to do that.
Turner played in 139 games in 2024 with the Toronto Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners, rapping out 11 HR with 55 RBIs, a .259 BA, and a .354 OBP.
