Star Free Agent Closer Tanner Scott Signs Big 4-Year Deal
One area of the free agent market that had yet to make a big move was that of the high-end relievers. The best of that crop, All-Star closer Tanner Scott has made his decision, and like many other top free agents, has decided to sign with the Los Angeles Dodgers..
Closer Tanner Scott and the Los Angeles Dodgers in agreement on a four-year, $72 million contract, sources tell ESPN. Scott, 30, was the best free agent reliever available this winter and got paid an elite amount as part of a deep Dodgers bullpen. @Feinsand was on the news.

It’s a four-year, $72 million contract for Scott, who joins an already deep Dodgers bullpen that also includes Blake Treinen, Evan Phillips, Michael Kopech and others. The deal includes a $20 million signing bonus and $21 million deferred.
The 30-year-old Scott was 9-6 with 22 saves and a 1.75 ERA last season for the Miami Marlins and San Diego Padres.
It's another huge coup for the Dodgers this winter, who just one day earlier signed the much-sought-after Japanese pitching sensation Roki Sasaki. They've also added two-time Cy Young winner Blake Snell to that loaded rotation, and also re-signed Teoscar Hernandez.
