Reports: Blue Jays Latest on Guerrero Jr, Alonso, Bregman

With big names swirling around like Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Pete Alonso and Alex Bregman, the Toronto Blue Jays are one of the busiest—and buzziest—teams in the major leagues these days.

They still haven't made a significant signing this offseason despite numerous high-profile attempts, and they haven't been able to lock up the face of their franchise to an extension as he heads into his final year before free agency.

But we have reports on all of these issues today.

Starting with Guerrero Jr., it sounds like the Blue Jays have every intention of re-signing him, and zero intention of trading him.

Per Jays insider Ben Nicholson-Smith, Toronto is "actively negotiating" with Vladdy, despite the two sides being $100 million apart at last report. And yes, they do have interest in free agent first baseman Pete Alonso, but that doesn't mean the end of Guerrero's Jays days just yet.

As noted by insider Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Jays have "no intention" of trading Guerrero before the season, and if they were to sign Alonso, they'd move Vladdy from first back to third base this season.

Fellow insider Hector Gomez gives us an update on the Jays' free agent pursuits:

Gomez says the Jays are all-in on free agents Bregman and Alonso, with an offer already in to the former Houston Astros third baseman, and "very real" interest in Alonso.

This could be a wild few days for the Toronto Blue Jays.
