Report: Guerrero Jr. & Blue Jays “Getting Closer” to Agreement
Could the recent signings by the Toronto Blue Jays of Anthony Santander and Max Scherzer have kickstarted the onerous negotiations between the team and face of the franchise Vladimir Guerrero Jr.?
According to respected Spanish-based MLB insider Héctor Goméz, it's quite possible, as he says "things have changed."
Things have changed. Now the #BlueJays are getting closer to what Vladdy Jr. is looking for. https://t.co/E7tBon9LyE

It was only a month ago that the two sides were said to be $100 million apart and Vladdy had said "What they offered me is not even close to what I'm looking for."
My, how the times they are a-changing. Gomez reports that the Blue Jays are "getting closer" to the number Vlad has requested, rumored to be in the $450 million range on a long-term deal.
The Jays beleaguered management (i.e. GM Ross Atkins and president Mark Shapiro) took at lot of heat over the course of most of the hot stove season for their inability to get anything of substance done to improve the team for 2025.
That's all changed in the last 10 days, with the Santander and now Scherzer signings, not to mention the fact that the Jays are listed as a team to beat (now where have we heard that before?) for landing slugger Pete Alonso.
Could Vladdy be the next big news coming out of T.O.?
