MLB Trade Rumors: Blue Jays Bo Bichette Heads to Atlanta Braves in Proposed Trade
What is up with the Toronto Blue Jays? So far, not one free agent has been interested in taking their money after their dreadful 2024, and the chaos that surrounds the team over the futures of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette.
With that, one has to imagine that one of those two, both impending free agents after the 2025 season, could be dealt. Bleacher Report insider Zachary Rymer has proposed a trade that would send the former All-Star Bichette to the Atlanta Braves. It would look like this:
Atlanta Braves Receive:
- SS Bo Bichette
Toronto Blue Jays Receive:
- LHP Cam Caminiti (Braves #1 prospect)
The Braves have watched their competition in the NL load up during this offseason, while they themselves have been quiet, and in fact watched one of their top starting pitchers, Max Fried, depart to the New York Yankees in free agency.
Atlanta is desperate for a starting shortstop who can produce, after Orlando Arcia was a huge flop in 2024, batting just .218.
Granted, Bichette had a disastrous year himself, hitting just .225 with an OPS+ of 71. But he is a two-time All-Star with a career .290 average with a 119 OPS+. Going to a contending team like the Braves could easily rejuvenate Bichette back to his star-level status.
The Jays, on the other hand, would be selling low on Bichette, but in this hypothetical deal, they'd land Atlanta's top prospect, per MLB Pipeline. Ken Caminiti certainly has a baseball name, as he's the cousin of former three-time All-Star Ken Caminiti. The left-handed pitcher is still only in Class-A, and has an ETA in majors of 2028.
