Former Brewers No. 1 Prospect Heads to Colorado Rockies
He was the former No. 1 ranked prospect for the Milwaukee Brewers in 2019, and a Top 20 overall prospect in all of baseball. He batted .303 in his rookie year. But the past five seasons have not been kind to Keston Hiura.
After a 10-game cameo with the Los Angeles Angels last season, he has now signed a minor league deal with the Colorado Rockies.
The Rockies have agreed to a Minor League deal with INF Keston Hiura, per source. Hiura will be in Major League camp with Colorado.

The 28-year-old has had a devil of a time even hitting above the Mendoza Line in recent seasons, with batting averages of .148, .226, .168, and .212 going back to 2020.
He did, however, show some renewed promise in Triple-A last season, clubbing 26 home runs in just 86 games with a .943 OPS. Now if that doesn't transfer well to Coors Field, then he might never be able to cut it in the big leagues.
Hiura has played first base, second base and even a little outfield over the course of his 294 major league games, and he could have a shot at some 1B/DH duties with the Rockies, if he makes the team out of spring training.
