One of the biggest bats left on the free agent market, Anthony Santander, has made his decision on where he’ll spend the next five years, signing a massive deal to stay in the American League East, with the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays finally get a free agent to take their money, after failed attempts at landing the likes of Juan Soto, Corbin Burnes, and Roki Sasaki among others.
Ken Rosenthal reports that the deal is worth $92.5 million, and Santander can opt out after the third year. The Blue Jays can void that opt out, however, by extending the deal to six years, $110M.
Santander, a switch hitter, had a terrific walk year with the Baltimore Orioles in 2024, mashing a career-high 44 home runs with 102 RBIs with an .814 OPS and a 134 OPS+. He made his first All-Star game.
In eight years with the Orioles, the 30-year-old has .246 average with a .776 OPS and a 114 OPS+. He has 105 home runs combined over the last three seasons.
