Report: Vladimir Guerrero Jr Rejects Blue Jays Extension Offer
Carlos Baerga is a former major league All-Star who has become somewhat of an insider breaking big stories in the baseball world, notably involving Latin players (yes, he's missed on some as well).
He is now reporting that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has turned down a massive extension offer from the Toronto Blue Jays, supposedly worth $340 million.

One follow up report suggests that the offer was made before the Juan Soto $765M signing with the New York Mets.
But now that Vladdy has seen the insane new heights that contracts can ascend to, he's likely wanting to take his talents into free agency after the 2025 season, and see just how crazy the bidding could get.
Of course, he'll have to perform as he did last season, and not as he did in 2022 and 2023, which were more in the "pretty good" but not "great" range.
Guerrero hit a stellar .323 in 2024, with a .940 OPS and a 166 OPS+. He blasted 30 homers with 103 RBIs and an on-base pct. of .396.
Guerrero & Bo Bichette are the two Toronto cornerstones who are heading into the final year of team control before hitting the open market next winter.
