MLB Trade Rumors: Insider Links 3 Teams To Garrett Crochet

The Chicago White Sox’s left-handed starter Garrett Crochet has become a prime trade candidate this offseason, with the Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Orioles, and Los Angeles Dodgers emerging as the leading contenders, according to MLB insider Jim Bowden.

"Every front office executive I’ve talked to believes Garrett Crochet will be traded before the end of this year," Bowden reported.

After a 121-loss season, the White Sox are pursuing a significant roster overhaul, focusing on acquiring young, everyday position players—an area where all three teams excel.

For the Dodgers, adding Crochet’s power arm would bolster an already strong rotation as they aim to repeat their World Series success.

Their farm system includes promising prospects like outfielders Josue De Paula and Zyhir Hope, who could meet the White Sox’s demands.

The Dodgers were close to acquiring Crochet at the trade deadline, but talks stalled over finalizing a third piece.

Meanwhile, the Red Sox, with pressing pitching needs after a disappointing season, view Crochet as a potential staff ace.

While Boston’s top prospect Roman Anthony remains off-limits, players like shortstop Marcelo Mayer or outfielder Braden Montgomery may be part of a deal.

Baltimore, also in need of rotation stability, is motivated by the possibility of losing ace Corbin Burnes to free agency and previously expressed interest in Crochet.

The Orioles have several highly regarded position-player prospects, such as Coby Mayo and Samuel Basallo, aligning well with Chicago’s goals.
