MLB Free Agent Rumors: 3 New Suitors Emerge For Anthony Santander

It was yet another monster year for Anthony Santander with the Baltimore Orioles, as he posted the best numbers of his career with 44 HRs and 102 RBIs, 91 runs and a .506 slugging percentage. His OPS+ of 134 was just one tick off his career high.

He heads into free agency with the type of walk year every player dreams of, and as a result, he has plenty of well-heeled suitors hunting for his services. Earlier, we brought you three teams that were on the list of clubs with an eye on the slugging outfielder, but now we're hearing of three more teams, all of them with championship aspirations, who are emerging as Santander suitors:

Houston Astros

They could be losing one of their top hitters in free agency this winter, if Alex Bregman decides to move elsewhere. If that's the case, the Astros will be desperate to replace his offense, and in Santander, they'd get that and more. The outfield is a spot that the Astros could use a power boost, as only Kyle Tucker is a reliable option.

San Francisco Giants

They will always be in on every big-name free agent, though they will rarely land them. The Giants will likely try again this winter, and while they'll also try for the top tier guys like Juan Soto and re-signing Blake Snell, they should also go after Santander, as offense is always in short supply at Oracle Park. Whether in the outfield or at DH, Santander would help the Giants immensely.

New York Yankees

If Soto slips through the cracks and heads crosstown, or elsewhere, the Yankees will pivot to bringing in another impact bat, and Santander would fit the bill. He would fill the hole in the outfield left by Soto as well, if they aren't able to bring him back. In addition, it would be stealing from their major divisional rival, the Orioles.
