First Free Agent Signing Of Offseason Sees Kyle Hendricks Moving West

Free agency is officially underway in major league baseball, and we can now report that the first free agent signing is going down, as longtime Chicago Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks is signing with the Los Angeles Angels.

It'll be a one-year deal for Hendricks, reportedly worth in the neighborhood of $3 million.

Hendricks, going into his age-35 season, has spent his entire 11-year career with the Cubs, posting a 3.68 ERA and 1.18 WHIP with a 97-81 record over that time.

His final year with the Cubbies in 2024 was his worst in the majors, with a 4-12 mark and a 5.92 ERA.

The Angels are banking on Hendricks still having something left in the tank.
