BREAKING: Blake Snell Chooses Next Team

The Los Angeles Dodgers have made another high-profile addition to their rotation, signing two-time Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell to a five-year, $182 million contract.

The deal, pending a physical, includes a $52 million signing bonus and deferred money that adjusts the net present value to approximately $160–165 million.

Snell announced his excitement with a photoshopped Instagram post showing him in Dodgers gear, captioned “LA 👀.”

He joins a star-studded rotation alongside Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Tyler Glasnow, cementing the Dodgers’ efforts to remain World Series contenders by loading up on elite arms.

Unlike last offseason, when Snell remained unsigned until March following his 2023 Cy Young campaign with the Padres, he was one of the first marquee free agents to land a deal this winter.

His performance down the stretch in 2024 with the San Francisco Giants made him a priority target, as he posted a 1.23 ERA over his final 12 starts, including a no-hitter against the Cincinnati Reds.

"We prioritize upside, and Blake represents the kind of elite arm we want leading our staff,” said Dodgers President of Baseball Operations Andrew Friedman.

Snell’s career 2.39 ERA after the All-Star Break and history of postseason success further solidified the Dodgers’ decision to invest in him.

With Snell on board, the Dodgers boast what could be the most formidable rotation in baseball.

Ohtani’s return to pitching in 2025, paired with Yamamoto’s upside and Glasnow’s potential, gives Los Angeles a rotation filled with ace-level talent.

Despite health concerns for some of their pitchers, the Dodgers are confident in their depth and ability to contend and dominate yet again.
