Top 3 Free Agent Destinations for Slugger Anthony Santander

The Baltimore Orioles are a little busy right now battling with a scrappy Kansas City Royals team in the Wild Card series, but once their season is over, they'll need to consider what they'll do about impending free agent slugger Anthony Santander.

The O's have a treasure trove of top young prospects looking to make it into the lineup, so it's quite possible they let their eight-year veteran go.

The soon-to-be 30-year-old had a career year, having notched his first All-Star nod while setting personal bests with 44 HR, 102 RBIs and a 134 OPS+. He picked a good time to do it; some estimates have him landing a multi-year deal that could approach $100 million.

3 teams that should line up to hand Santander that bag:

Philadelphia Phillies

The Phils, one of the top teams in baseball this season, are stacked across their lineup, but if there's one spot where they could get a boost, it would be in the outfield. Their president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski isn't shy to spend big coin, and Erik Beaston of Bleacher Report agrees, and sees the Phils as the top candidate to land Santander this winter.

Washington Nationals

This is an up-and-coming team with some exciting young talent who could be on the precipice of taking a big step next season. Having an experienced power bat like Santander in the middle of the lineup to help shepherd the flock of youngsters would help.

St. Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals are looking to make big changes this offseason. They've already replaced John Mozeliak with Chaim Bloom as president of baseball operations, and big moves on the player side will be coming next. Missing the playoffs in consecutive seasons doesn't sit well with those in St. Louis, and signing Santander could bring some explosiveness back to the ballpark.
