Report: Surprise Team Could Make "Astronomical Offer" To Juan Soto This Winter
According to NJ.com's Randy Miller, a former teammate of Soto has hinted that the Blue Jays could be a serious contender in the bidding war, with management viewing Soto as a perfect fit for their lineup alongside Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette.
"Look for the Blue Jays to make an astronomical offer," the anonymous source told Miller, adding that Soto's presence could help Toronto rebound from their disappointing last-place finish.
"Soto's buddy shared some interesting free agency gossip to NJ Advance Media.

“Look for the Blue Jays to make an astronomical offer,” Soto’s pal said by phone.
The Blue Jays?
“I heard it with my own ears,” he said before sharing details."
They had money for Ohtani, sooooo https://t.co/aTxwkay1sH
This revelation has caught the attention of many around the league, particularly since the New York Yankees and New York Mets were seen as frontrunners for Soto's services.
The Blue Jays' willingness to spend big has been evident in recent seasons, as seen in their aggressive pursuit of Shohei Ohtani.
Now, with Soto hitting the market at just 25 years old, Toronto is reportedly considering a move that could rival the mega-deals seen in recent years.
Soto’s next contract is expected to start at $600 million, with a friend of Soto telling Miller, “The number has to start with a six."

Obviously, take all of this with a grain of salt. The offseason has become an epicentre of heartbreak for this team in recent years. pic.twitter.com/aS3Y8ijoxS
While the Yankees, Mets, and Los Angeles Dodgers remain strong contenders, Toronto's potential involvement adds a new dynamic to Soto’s free agency.
With the Blue Jays needing a left-handed bat and an impact outfielder, especially with George Springer's decline, signing Soto could reshape their lineup and elevate them back into playoff contention.
