Yet Another—Yes, ANOTHER—Dodgers Pitcher Likely Done For the Season

The Los Angeles Dodgers' starting rotation continues to be ravaged by injury, to the point that it's becoming ridiculous.

Now the team has announced that Gavin Stone is "very unlikely" to return this season.

In addition to Dustin May, and most recently Tyler Glasnow being out for the season, Tony Gonsolin has yet to pitch this season (though still might), Yoshinobu Yamamoto missed three months to injury, and Clayton Kershaw started just seven games before going out with an injury. Now, Stone will join the ranks of the longest pitching staff injury list in the league.

Stone last pitched on Aug. 31st, but he is still experiencing soreness in his pitching shoulder.

The rookie hurler was having a nice first full season in the bigs, with an 11-5 mark, a 3.53 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP with a 116:37 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

It's hard to say how the Dodgers will fill out their starting rotation after Jack Flaherty and Yamamoto, as Walker Buehler (returning from Tommy John surgery this year) has been a shell of himself with a 5.54 ERA, and sophomore Bobby Miller, also currently in the rotation, has been even worse, with an 8.52 ERA.

There's apparently a "non-zero" chance that Shohei Ohtani could take the mound in some form in the postseason, though pretty much a ZERO chance it's as a starter.
