Noah Syndergaard Would "Love" To Return To This Team; "It's The Best Place To Play"

Noah Syndergaard has expressed a strong desire to return to the New York Mets, the team where he spent the first seven years of his MLB career.

During an appearance on The Terry Collins Show, Syndergaard shared his admiration for New York, calling it the "best place to play" and emphasizing how much he cherishes his time with the Mets.

"I would love to come home to New York. Hopefully, that's in store for me. I love the fan base, I love the city. I love the culture, the history, the passion," he said, reflecting on his deep connection with both the team and its supporters.

Syndergaard’s once-promising career has faced setbacks since he left the Mets in 2021, including injuries and inconsistency following Tommy John surgery in 2020.

After short stints with the Los Angeles Angels, Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Cleveland Guardians, his struggles continued, posting a combined 6.50 ERA in 2023.

Despite this, the 32-year-old remains optimistic about a comeback, even holding a workout in early 2024 to showcase his progress to potential suitors.

Still, his heart seems set on a return to the Mets, where he made his MLB debut and quickly became a fan favorite.

While it remains uncertain if the Mets are interested in a reunion, Syndergaard's affection for New York is undeniable.

Reflecting on his time in Queens, he acknowledged that leaving the team was a difficult decision, but now he is eager for a fresh start.

"Hopefully that's in store for me," he reiterated, hinting that a return to the Mets could reignite his career and bring him back to the place he still calls home.
