Marlins moves:

- INF Vidal Bruján returned from rehab assignment and reinstated from the 10-day Injured List.
- OF Derek Hill returned from rehab assignment and reinstated from the 10-day Injured List.
- OF David Hensley optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville.
- INF José Devers…
Injuries have played a major role in Devers' stalled development, including a shoulder impingement and labrum surgery that sidelined him for much of the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
Devers has appeared in just 21 MLB games since his debut, posting a modest .244/.300/.311 slash line in 50 total plate appearances.
His struggles have extended to the minors as well, with a .228/.293/.360 line in 209 plate appearances for Triple-A Jacksonville this season.
Despite early promise as a speedy, defensively sound middle infielder, his offensive production has not matched the initial expectations.
This is the second time the Marlins have DFA'd Devers, having previously outrighted him to the minors in 2022 after he went unclaimed on waivers.
If he goes unclaimed again, Devers will have the option to elect free agency, potentially seeking a fresh start elsewhere.
While his once-bright prospect status has dimmed, Devers still has time to re-establish his career, though he faces an uncertain future after years of injury setbacks and inconsistent play.
