Los Angeles Dodgers Reveal Starting Rotation For NLDS

The Los Angeles Dodgers have officially revealed their starting rotation for the 2024 National League Division Series (NLDS), with manager Dave Roberts naming Jack Flaherty, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Walker Buehler, and rookie Landon Knack as the four pitchers who will take the mound.

While Roberts has not specified the exact order, Flaherty and Yamamoto are expected to start Games 1 and 2, with Buehler and Knack following in Games 3 and 4.

“It’s a solid group,” Roberts said, expressing confidence in their ability to perform in the postseason despite the injuries that have impacted the Dodgers' rotation all season.

The Dodgers have dealt with a lot of setbacks in their pitching staff, with key starters like Clayton Kershaw (toe injury), Tyler Glasnow (elbow sprain), and Gavin Stone (shoulder inflammation) ruled out for the NLDS.

Additionally, Tony Gonsolin and Dustin May are recovering from Tommy John surgery. Despite this, Roberts remains optimistic about his rotation, especially the veteran presence of Flaherty, who posted a 3.58 ERA this season, and the promising return of Yamamoto, who has a 2.96 ERA after overcoming a shoulder strain earlier in the year.

Although questions about pitching depth persist, the Dodgers' powerful offense, led by NL MVP favorite Shohei Ohtani, provides a huge boost to their World Series chances.

Roberts praised the growth of rookie Landon Knack, who posted a 3.74 ERA in his debut season, and noted Buehler’s improvement since returning from Tommy John surgery.

“We’ve got four guys who can get it done, and that’s all we need to win in October,” Roberts stated. The Dodgers, who clinched the NL West title, are focused on securing the top seed in the National League and making a deep postseason run.
