Los Angeles Dodgers DFA Pitcher With 1.64 ERA In Triple-A

The Los Angeles Dodgers designated right-handed reliever Michael Petersen for assignment on Sunday as part of a series of roster moves.

Petersen, 30, had a 3-0 record with a 6.43 ERA across 11 appearances for the Dodgers this season.

Despite a strong start after making his MLB debut in June, where he posted a 1.17 ERA through his first five games, his performance declined in later outings.

His most recent appearance on September 4 saw him give up three runs in one inning against the Los Angeles Angels.

In a corresponding move, the Dodgers selected the contract of left-hander Nick Ramirez from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

This marks Ramirez's sixth promotion to the majors this season, as the team continues to rotate fresh arms through its bullpen to maintain flexibility.

The Dodgers also optioned rookie left-hander Justin Wrobleski back to Oklahoma City after his solid two-inning performance in a recent win over the Cleveland Guardians. Ramirez, 35, provides veteran experience as the Dodgers prepare for a busy stretch of games and the return of key relievers like Brusdar Graterol.

Petersen now faces the possibility of being traded, claimed off waivers, or outrighted to the minors within the next seven days.

While his major league outings have been inconsistent, Petersen showed promise at the Triple-A level, where he posted a 1.64 ERA with 44 strikeouts in 33 innings for Oklahoma City.
