Breaking: Dodgers Get Brutal News As Tyler Glasnow Suffers 'Setback'

Tyler Glasnow is an overpowering pitcher who can be one of the best in the majors—when healthy. But that has been the problem for the 31-year-old hurler, who has already hit a career high with 22 starts and 134 innings this season. That might be as high as it goes though, as he's suffered a setback in his recovery from tendonitis in his elbow.

According to beat writer Fabian Ardaya, Glasnow "felt discomfort in his elbow while warming up for his sim game today", and the Dodgers shut him down.

Glasnow went straight to the clubhouse after warming up in the bullpen instead of facing hitters in what was supposed to be a 2-to-3-inning simulated game.

Manager Dave Roberts said, “It’s a setback."

Glasnow has been out since Aug. 16 with tendonitis, but this latest development makes it questionable if he'll be able to return before the end of the regular season.

The 6'8" right-hander will go for additional testing to determine exactly where the elbow is at.

He's been a huge addition to the Dodgers rotation this season, with a 9-6 mark, a 3.49 ERA and a 0.95 WHIP with 11.3 strikeouts per nine, and a 168:35 K/BB ratio in his 134 innings.

He'd never passed the 120 inning mark before this season in his nine-year career, due to a serious of injury issues over the years.

This would be a massive hit to the LA rotation for the playoffs if Glasnow is not able to pitch.

Interestingly, this news comes just hours after Roberts noted that another star hurler who hasn't pitched at all this season just might—maybe—see some action on the mound in the postseason.
