Oakland Athletics DFA 4-Year Veteran Pitcher
This move comes as the team reinstates standout reliever Mason Miller from the 15-day injured list and recalls infielder Armando Alvarez from Triple-A Las Vegas.

Reyes was called up to fill in after the Athletics traded Lucas Erceg to the Kansas City Royals.
In his brief stint with the A’s, Reyes pitched four innings, allowing two earned runs, issuing three walks, and striking out two batters.
Despite his respectable minor league performance this season, which included a 3.82 ERA and a 36.4% strikeout rate in Triple-A, his 7.13 ERA over 41.2 major league innings ultimately led to his removal from the 40-man roster.

- Mason Miller reinstated from IL
- Armando Alvarez recalled from Triple-A
- Seth Brown placed on paternity list
- Gerardo Reyes designated for assignment
That being said, his solid minor-league numbers may draw the interest of some teams on the waiver wire.
With Miller returning from a brief IL stint due to a fractured pinkie finger, the Athletics decided to move forward without Reyes.
If unclaimed during the waiver process, Reyes is expected to return to Triple-A Las Vegas as bullpen depth.
