Nationals Release Utilityman With .296 Batting Average Since 2022

The Washington Nationals have officially released outfielder Harold Ramírez, marking the end of his brief stint with the team after being designated for assignment earlier in the week.

Ramírez, 29, joined the Nationals in June after being claimed off waivers from the Tampa Bay Rays but struggled to regain his form, posting a .243/.273/.365 slash line with one home run and 16 RBIs in 25 games.

His performance was a noticeable decline from his more productive seasons with the Rays in 2022 and 2023, leading the Nationals to part ways as they continue to reshape their roster.

The Nationals have made a series of roster changes this season, moving away from veteran placeholders like Ramírez to make room for emerging prospects.

Recent promotions of players like infielder Andrés Chaparro, who was acquired from the Arizona Diamondbacks at the trade deadline and made an immediate impact with a three-hit debut, and right-hander Orlando Ribalta reflect this shift in the team's roster.

Since 2022, Ramirez holds an impressive .296/.333/.407 triple-slash line, along with 20 home runs, 155 RBIs, 14 stolen bases, and 132 runs scored across 290 games played.
