Adam Kolarek, 35, faced similar challenges, spending the entire season in Triple-A after signing a $900K deal in the offseason.
Despite a strong major league track record, Kolarek struggled with a 6.97 ERA over 31 innings in Salt Lake.
His elevated walk rate and average strikeout numbers ultimately contributed to his release.
