Kansas City Royals Claim Hitter Off Waivers Who Crushes Lefties
The Kansas City Royals have made another solid move by claiming veteran outfielder Robbie Grossman off waivers from the Texas Rangers, aiming to bolster their roster for a late-season playoff push.
Grossman, 34, brings valuable experience and a strong track record against left-handed pitching, boasting a career OPS of .809 against southpaws.
#Royals have claimed OF Tommy Pham off waivers from the Cardinals, as @katiejwoo has reported, and they’ve also claimed OF Robbie Grossman from the Rangers, according to a source. Adding depth with the injuries that have occurred. Both will be eligible for postseason rosters.

Despite struggling against right-handed pitchers this season, Grossman has contributed a .227 batting average, three home runs, and 14 RBIs over 71 games split between the Chicago White Sox and Rangers.
This acquisition is particularly timely for the Royals, who have been dealing with key injuries that have left gaps in their lineup.
We have claimed OF Robbie Grossman off waivers from the Texas Rangers and OF Tommy Pham off waivers from the St. Louis Cardinals. We anticipate both players reporting tomorrow.

INF CJ Alexander and C Austin Nola have been designated for assignment.
First baseman Vinnie Pasquantino is out for the season with a broken thumb, and outfielder Hunter Renfroe is sidelined with a hamstring strain.
With their playoff hopes still alive and the team sitting just 2.5 games behind the Cleveland Guardians in the AL Central, the Royals needed to add depth and experience to remain competitive in the race for a postseason spot.
