Twins Sign Veteran Outfielder After Impressive Minor-League Numbers

The Minnesota Twins have reinforced their outfield depth with the signing of 33-year-old veteran Wynton Bernard, following his impressive performance in the minor leagues.

Bernard recently showcased his skills with the Charlotte Knights, the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, where he posted impressive numbers over 41 games.

He boasted a robust .306 batting average alongside a .328 on-base percentage and a .446 slugging percentage, including six doubles, a triple, three home runs, and 11 stolen bases out of 12 attempts.

Drafted by the San Diego Padres in 2012, Bernard has amassed a wealth of experience across multiple minor league organizations, including stints with the Detroit Tigers, San Francisco Giants, Chicago Cubs, Colorado Rockies, Toronto Blue Jays, and Chicago White Sox.

His professional journey includes a notable MLB debut with the Colorado Rockies in 2022, where he made history as the oldest player since 1907 to record a hit and stolen base in his debut game.

With over 1,051 minor league games under his belt and a brief but impactful major league stint, Bernard brings valuable veteran leadership and a proven track record of offensive consistency to the Twins' organization.

For his minor-league career, the 33-year-old holds a strong .291/.353/.427 triple-slash line, with 68 home runs, 393 RBIs, 276 stolen bases, and 611 runs scored across 1,051 games played.
