TRADE: Phillies Acquire Reliable Southpaw From White Sox

The Philadelphia Phillies have bolstered their bullpen by acquiring left-handed reliever Tanner Banks from the Chicago White Sox, as reported by Robert Murray of FanSided.

Banks, 32, has delivered a solid performance this season, posting a 4.13 ERA, 3.28 FIP, 27% strikeout rate, and 7.3% walk rate over 48 innings.

Despite not being a primary target, his reliability and control through the next two seasons make him a valuable addition as the Phillies aim to strengthen their pitching depth for a playoff push.

Banks' consistent performance with the White Sox included handling high-leverage situations due to Chicago's lack of reliever depth.

However, upon joining the Phillies, he is expected to transition into a middle-relief role within their more talented bullpen.

With 55 strikeouts and a 1.29 WHIP this season, Banks provides the Phillies with another dependable arm, enhancing their overall bullpen capabilities as they look to finish the season strong.

In return, the White Sox are receiving the Phillies' No.11 prospect William Bergolla, a 19-year-old infielder slashing .295/.350/.385 at the High-A level this season.
