MLB Trade Rumors: Yankees "Not Considering" Trading One Player

The New York Yankees are preparing to be aggressive buyers as the MLB trade deadline approaches, aiming to bolster their bullpen and corner infield positions.

However, despite their efforts to reinforce the roster, the Yankees have made it clear that top prospect Jasson Dominguez is not available in trade discussions, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post.

Dominguez, who debuted in the MLB in 2023 and showed significant promise, is currently sidelined with an oblique injury and is expected to miss most of the 2024 season. His potential as a future cornerstone of the Yankees' outfield remains a priority for the organization.

This season, the 21-year-old has slashed a ridiculous .356/.404/.609 line, with six home runs, 13 RBIs, three stolen bases, and 17 runs scored across 23 games played.

According to Sherman, Dominguez, alongside fellow top prospect Spencer Jones, is among the most protected assets in the Yankees' farm system.

Jones, despite his high strikeout rate, has demonstrated immense upside, and the Yankees are hopeful he can become a key player in their outfield.

While other prospects like George Lombard, catcher Agustin Ramirez, second baseman Jared Serna, and reliever Jack Neely are considered more available for trades, the commitment to retaining Dominguez shows the Yankees' long-term strategy.

By keeping Dominguez, the Yankees might miss out on high-profile trade targets like All-Star closer Mason Miller.

Nevertheless, their focus on maintaining their top young talents while seeking necessary reinforcements reflects a safe approach between immediate improvements and future success.

As the trade deadline nears, the Yankees are expected to make moves without sacrificing their most promising prospects.
