MLB Trade Rumors: Yankees Interested in Blue Jays Pitcher

It sounds like the New York Yankees could be looking within their division to find some help for the bullpen. And their target is an extremely familiar face, as they're expressing interest in a reunion with Chad Green of the Toronto Blue Jays.

According to baseball insider Jon Morosi, the Yankees are eyeing Green due to his versatility, being able to pitch in any high-leverage situations, including closing.

Green left the Yankees as a free agent after the 2022 season, while he was recovering from Tommy John surgery in June of that year. He signed an $8.5-million, two-year deal with Toronto.

His success in the Bronx Bombers' bullpen was unquestioned in his seven seasons there, sporting a career ERA of 3.17, a WHIP of 1.022 and 11.6 strikeouts per nine iin 272 games.

This season with the Jays, he seems to be back to full form, or even better though without the same velocity, with an ERA of 1.88, a WHIP of 0.97, and a 24:9 K/BB ratio.

Green still has one year left on his deal.
