MLB Trade Rumors: 6 Teams Trying To Trade For Tanner Scott

As the MLB trade deadline approaches, Miami Marlins' All-Star closer Tanner Scott has become the most coveted closer on the market, with six playoff contenders intensely vying for his services. 

The New York Yankees, Baltimore Orioles, Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Seattle Mariners are all prominently involved in trade discussions for Scott, who has not allowed an earned run since June 13, according to insider Jon Heyman.

Scott's impressive stats, including a 1.18 ERA and a .127 batting average against, make him a prime target for teams looking to bolster their bullpens for a playoff push.

The Yankees are particularly interested in Scott due to the recent struggles of their closer, Clay Holmes, who has a 7.14 ERA since mid-June. 

The Orioles, Scott's former team, also have a strong interest in bringing him back, especially with their current closer Craig Kimbrel experiencing issues. 

The Phillies and Dodgers, both in need of reliable late-inning arms, view Scott as a critical addition. 

Meanwhile, the Diamondbacks, having already acquired reliever A.J. Puk from the Marlins, are keen on further strengthening their bullpen. 

The Mariners, who recently traded for Randy Arozarena, are also in the mix, aiming to add more firepower to their pitching staff.

Scott, a free agent at the end of the season, has logged 18 saves and struck out 53 batters in 45.2 innings, showing his dominance on the mound. 

The Marlins are in a strong position to secure a good return for Scott, who is owed just over $2 million for the rest of the season. 

With the trade deadline looming, Scott appears almost certain to be moved, with multiple teams eager to add his elite pitching skills to their rosters.
