MLB Trade Rumors: 6 former All-Stars are Trade Candidates From SF Giants

The San Francisco Giants have a big decision to make as we approach the trade deadline on Tuesday. They sit at three games under .500 but only 4.0 games back of the final Wild Card spot in the National League heading into Sunday's games. Are they sellers or buyers? Or neither?

Rival GMs came into this weekend believing the Giants will realize they are not a true contender and sell. And if they do, there would be no less than eight players that would be up for trade, six of them former All-Stars, and many of them award winners:

Blake Snell, 2-time Cy Young Award winner, former All-Star
Matt Chapman, 4-time Gold Glove winner, former All-Star
Jorge Soler, World Series MVP, former All-Star
Michael Conforto, former All-Star
Alex Cobb, former All-Star
Taylor Rogers, former All-Star
Mike Yastrzemski
Wilmer Flores

Snell, who struggled badly in his first six starts before going down to injury, has looked like his Cy Young self in four starts since returning, and has a $38 million player option for next season.

Chapman has had a reasonable year at the plate, though nothing earth-shattering, also has an opt-out after this season ($18M) and again next year ($16M).

As could have reasonably been expected, the inconsistent Soler, whose yearly performances fluctuate wildly, has been a disappointment. He has two more years to run at $16M per.

Rogers would be a nice piece in any contender's bullpen, as he has recorded a career-best 2.21 ERA thus far.

Cobb has yet to pitch this season after coming off an All-Star year in '23, but he could finally return in about a week. Conforto has once again put up a very middling performance for the second straight year in The Bay, and not many teams would be uber-excited about adding him.
