MLB Trade Rumors: 5 Teams "Going After" Blake Snell

Blake Snell, the veteran left-handed pitcher for the San Francisco Giants, is drawing significant trade interest from at least five teams as the MLB trade deadline approaches.

Snell, who signed a two-year, $62 million contract with the Giants in the offseason, had a challenging start to the season, including multiple stints on the injured list.

However, since his return on July 9, Snell has rediscovered his Cy Young-winning form, allowing just six hits and two earned runs over 18 innings in his last three starts.

This resurgence has made him one of the most scouted players in the league.

Industry sources, including Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic and Jon Heyman of the New York Post, confirm the heightened interest in Snell.

The Giants are actively listening to offers for him and other players with expiring contracts, such as Michael Conforto, Mike Yastrzemski, Wilmer Flores, Alex Cobb, and Taylor Rogers.

Despite the Giants hovering around the National League Wild Card race, their recent slip in standings and low playoff odds have prompted them to consider shifting priorities.

The Giants aim to recoup some of the prospect talent they sacrificed when signing Snell, focusing on optimizing their roster for the future rather than purely financial motivations.

The complexity of Snell's contract adds urgency for interested teams. His deal includes an opt-out clause after the season, making him a potential rental if he continues to perform well.
