Insider Offers Surprising Prediction for Jazz Chisholm Landing Spot

It's pretty common knowledge around baseball that the Miami Marlins are set to trade former All-Star Jazz Chisholm by next Tuesday's deadline. A number of teams have been linked to the 26-year-old outfielder/infielder, but now insider Jon Heyman has given us a surprising prediction as to where Chisholm will ultimately land:

Pittsburgh — I can see them getting Chisholm. That would be my prediction for Jazz.

The Pirates can definitely use another bat (or two, or three), to get their offense up to par with an excellent top 3 in the rotation. The team is just one game out of a Wild Card spot going into Wednesday's action, as they look to snap an eight-year playoff drought.

And given the youth and intriguing personalities around the team, perhaps an issue that's holding down Chisholm's value won't deter the Bucos.

The New York Yankees are another team that had been considering the Marlins' outspoken player, and they could also use another bat as every observer of the Bronx Bombers could tell you, but according to ESPN's Jorge Castillo, the team "has concerns about how his personality would fit inside the clubhouse."

This fits with a report from insider Jeff Passan, who reported on Tuesday that "fears about his ability to stay healthy and brashness have limited his market."

Chisholm has never held back about speaking his mind, even of his own teammates, in this clip saying that some of them "suck."

Heyman considers the Seattle Mariners as another potential candidate to consider dealing for Chisholm.

This year, he's batting .251 with a 103 OPS+, along with 13 homers, 47 RBIs and 21 stolen bases.
