TRADE: Yankees Land Jazz Chisholm From Marlins

The New York Yankees have acquired one of the top bats available on the trade market, securing Jazz Chisholm from the Miami Marlins.

The Yankees' offense has been a disaster, outside of Aaron Judge and Juan Soto, and Chisholm will inject a boost into a moribund lineup. There is no definitive word yet on what position he'll play in Pinstripes, but the team is anxious to make use of his versatility, as he can play both second base and centerfield, and, according to insider Jim Bowden, they may try him at third base as well.

There had been some talk this past week that the Bronx Bombers may not have been too keen on bringing in the brash, outspoken Chisholm, but they have apparently relented with the realization that they were in desperate need of a spark.

The Yanks will be sending three prospects to Miami in return, per reports,  headlined by catcher Agustin Ramirez, the team's 20th-ranked prospect, a 22-year-old with an ETA of reaching The Show of 2026.

Chisholm is batting .249 with a .730 OPS, along with 13 home runs and 22 stolen bases. He was an All-Star in 2022.
