TRADE: Top Closer Tanner Scott Sent To NL Contender
The top available reliever on the trade market has a new home, as the Miami Marlins have sent their closer Tanner Scott to the San Diego Padres.
The Padres are reportedly in agreement to acquire LHP Tanner Scott from the Marlins.

This is a huge move for the Padres, who seem to have themselves a team that can make a real run. They began the trade season with the Marlins way back in May, acquiring batting champion Luis Arraez. Now they add another lock-down late-inning arm for the bullpen to join All-Star Robert Suarez.
The Fish get a huge return, in the Padres' No. 3, No. 4, No. 6 and No. 29th ranked prospects: LHP Robby Snelling, RHP Adam Mazur, INF Graham Pauley and INF Jay Beshears.
The Friars have now traded 12 of their top 15 prospects this year to upgrade their team, dating back to the preseason trade for Dylan Cease, and then Arraez plus these deadline moves.
The Padres are currently in one of the Wild Card spots in the NL, though there are six teams battling for three spots, all within 2.5 games of each other.
