Massive 3-Team Trade: Dodgers, Cardinals & White Sox

The St. Louis Cardinals get some pitching and outfield help, The Los Angeles Dodgers get an outfielder and a reliever, while the Chicago White Sox get a bunch of young players & prospects, as a three-team trade sees a number of notable players change hands.

Cardinals get: RHP Erick Fedde, OF Tommy Pham

Dodgers get: INF/OF Tommy Edman, RHP Michael Kopech

White Sox get: INFs Miguel Vargas, Noah Miller, Jaral Perez and Alexander Albertus

The Dodgers pick up infielder/outfielder Tommy Edman, who hasn’t played yet this season due to wrist surgery and a sprained ankle, in addition to high-leverage reliever Michael Kopech, while the Cardinals pick up starting pitcher Erick Fedde and outfielder Tommy Pham.

St. Louis has targeted Fedde for a while now as an arm they were hoping to add to their rotation. He spent 2023 in Korea and has returned to the majors this year finally ready to reach his potential, with a 3.11 ERA.

As for Pham, he returns to the team he started his career with.

As noted by Fabian Ardaya, Edman, who's expected back in about a week, fills a couple of holes for the Dodgers, including shortstop, where they just signed Nick Ahmed as a stopgap fill-in for Mookie Betts, and in center field, where they've gotten the third-worst production in the majors.

Kopech brings his 12.2 K/9 to the LA bullpen.

Miguel Vargas will be among the pieces heading to Chicago as part of the deal, along with prospects Jaral Perez and Alexander Albertus.
