Top 3 Trade Destinations for Red-Hot ex-Yankee Miguel Andujar

It's been a while since former New York Yankees Rookie of the Year runner-up Miguel Andujar has been an impactful player in the big leagues. In fact, it was that rookie year of 2018. That season, he exploded onto the scene in the Bronx with 27 homers, 92 RBIs and an .855 OPS to win the hearts of Yankee fans and almost the ROY voters.

Since then, he hasn't even been a league-average hitter, until this year, at the age of 29. His resurgence with the Oakland A's only began on May 24th, but since then Andujar has hit .324 with a 126 OPS+ playing left field in Oakland. He's on a $1.7 million deal this season and has one more year of team control.

According to MLB Insider and former GM Jim Bowden, there are three teams that could be landing spots for Andujar when the A's start their annual fire sale.

Atlanta Braves

Yes, the Braves are in the same position they were in back in 2021, losing outfield superstar Ronald Acuna Jr. for the season. They brought in four viable OFs to fill the void and went on to win the World Series. This time around, so far, they've signed Ramon Laureano, now could his Dominican countryman Andujar be next?

Pittsburgh Pirates

The Bucs got to see a 30-game trial of Andujar last season, and were dutifully impressed as he posted a 108 OPS+ with four dingers and 18 RBIs. They're only 2.5 games out of the Wild Card spot, and they could go back to the well to try another run at Andujar for some outfield depth.

Minnesota Twins

It was just two days ago that the Twins got a close up look at what Andujar can do on the defensive side of the ball, as he robbed a home run from Royce Lewis and then nailed Manuel Margot at third for a double play. The Twins are looking for another corner outfielder to add to the mix, and he could be a name on their radar.
