MLB Trade Rumors: Orioles Versatile Player Becoming Trade Candidate

Ramón Urías, a versatile infielder for the Baltimore Orioles, has emerged as a prime trade candidate as the July 30 Trade Deadline approaches, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.

Over parts of five seasons with Baltimore, Urías has showcased his ability to play multiple infield positions. His standout year came in 2022 when he hit 16 home runs, 51 RBIs, and a .248/.305/.414 triple-slash line while starting games at third base, second base, shortstop, and designated hitter.

Despite his contributions, the rapid ascension of young stars like Gunnar Henderson and Jordan Westburg, along with the impending return of Jackson Holliday and the arrival of Coby Mayo, have pushed Urías to a bench role, as noted by Feinsand.

Given the Orioles' depth and future infield projections, Urías' playing time is likely to diminish further.

At 30 years old and with two years of arbitration eligibility remaining, he presents a valuable trade chip for Baltimore.

Teams in need of a reliable, experienced infielder who can contribute both offensively and defensively might view Urías as a key addition.

Trading him could help the Orioles address other areas of need while giving Urías the opportunity to play a more prominent role elsewhere.

Over his five-year MLB career, Urias holds a .261/.327/.402 triple-slash line, along with 31 home runs, 142 RBIs, five stolen bases, and 144 runs scored across 363 games played.
