Jacob deGrom's anticipated return to the Texas Rangers has been a focal point amidst a challenging start to his tenure with the team.

Despite these setbacks, recent updates from MLB insider Bob Nightengale indicate positive developments in deGrom's recovery, with the Rangers targeting an August activation date for the star pitcher.

Following his surgery to repair a torn UCL last June, deGrom's journey back to the mound has been marked by encouraging signs. 

His recent return to mound work and ongoing rehabilitation progress suggest that he could potentially begin a rehab assignment in July, setting the stage for his long-awaited comeback in August.
