Milawuakee Brewers Place Starting Pitcher On Waivers

The Milwaukee Brewers have placed right-handed pitcher Elieser Hernández on waivers as part of their recent roster maneuvers.

Hernández, who joined the Brewers on June 8 after electing free agency from the Los Angeles Dodgers, made four appearances for Milwaukee, posting a 3.00 ERA over six innings pitched and two starts.

Despite his brief and relatively effective stint, Hernández's overall season performance includes a 6.32 ERA over 15.2 innings between the Dodgers and Brewers.

In response to Hernández's waiver placement, the Brewers have recalled rookie infielder Tyler Black and right-hander Bradley Blalock.

This marks Blalock's first call-up to the major leagues following his acquisition from the Boston Red Sox last summer in exchange for Luis Urías.

Hernández now awaits potential claims from other MLB teams or could opt for free agency if he clears waivers.

Over his six-year career, the 29-year-old holds a 5.10 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, along with 285 strikeouts across 303.1 innings and 99 appearances (49 starts).
