For the second time since throwing a no-hitter in 2022, Los Angeles Angels former top-10 first-round pick Reid Detmers has been demoted to AAA.

This is the second time Detmers has been optioned since throwing his no-hitter two years ago.
He has a 6.14 ERA on the season. And his last 8 starts have been a slog after pitching well in April.
Detmers' fall from grace has been a steep and quick one. From late last season through the first couple of weeks of April of this year, he had an 11-game stretch where he was establishing himself as a legit top-end starter, with a 1.98 ERA in 60+ innings that saw the Angels go 9-2 over that span.
But since then, he's fallen off a cliff, with an 8.93 ERA over his last eight starts (Angels are 1-7 in that time).
Overall, he has a 6.14 ERA this season. He'll now try to re-set himself at Triple-A.
In 2022, Detmers established himself in the Angels rotation, with the no-hitter the capper on a 3.77 ERA season with a 122:46 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
Now 24, he was the No. 10 overall pick in the 2020 MLB Draft and rose quickly through the minors, striking out 16 batters per nine in 68 innings at AA and AAA.
