Biggio, 29, was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays last week. He’s hitting .200/.323/.291 this year and .227/.343/.382 for his career.
The Jays will receive a minor league depth pitcher, Braydon Fisher, in return, according to reports.
The 29-year-old has had all sorts of trouble hitting with regularity in the majors over the course of his career, but he's still able to get on base at a decent clip. He is slashing just .200/.323/.291 this year, and those marks go up a tad to .227/.343/.382 for his career. The average and slugging are nearly non-existent, but a .343 career on-base is a more than effective number.
Biggio will get at-bats vs. right-handed pitchers for the Dodgers, and play all over the field, as he usually does. He can, and has, played every position on the diamond during his career except catcher and shortstop.
