Joey Votto Finally Gets A Contract For 2024
What had been one of the saddest stories of spring training to this point has now taken a much brighter turn, as future Hall of Famer Joey Votto, at the age of 40 and looking for one more shot at the big leagues, has signed a deal with his hometown team the Toronto Blue Jays.
Votto himself posted about his excitement on social media:
I am excited about the opportunity to work my way back to the Major Leagues. It’s even sweeter to attempt this while wearing the uniform of my hometown team, the Toronto Blue Jays. https://t.co/s7xEFLKe8V

It’s a minor-league deal for Votto, who adds another left-handed bat to the mix for the Jays, as he’ll try to make the club over the next few weeks.

He's only 25 hits behind Hall of Famer Larry Walker.
He could break the record in a @BlueJays uniform.
