Top Insider "Believes" Different AL East Team Are Now Signing Jorge Soler
Leading MLB insider, Bob Nightengale, has strongly indicated that he believes the Boston Red Sox will sign free agent outfielder Jorge Soler.
The Red Sox's interest in Soler has become more pronounced, especially after their other potential signing, Teoscar Hernández, opted to join the Los Angeles Dodgers.

"The Red Sox have been relatively quiet all winter (with the only noise being the fanbase screaming for action) but the unrest should at least be momentarily subdued with a Soler signing."pic.twitter.com/MRsHH7rWZq
This shift in focus towards Soler is partly due to the Red Sox's need for a right-handed bat, a role that Soler, with his impressive 2023 season stats of 36 home runs and 75 RBIs in 137 games, could fulfill admirably.
The team's chief baseball officer, Craig Breslow, has been quite open about this need, and Soler's potential fit within Fenway Park is seen as particularly enticing, given his power-hitting capabilities.
Despite the Red Sox's apparent frontrunner status as per MLB reporter Héctor Gómez, it's worth noting that this hasn't been universally acknowledged, with other sources suggesting that the Red Sox are among several teams interested, but not necessarily leading the pack.

Jorge Soler's appeal goes beyond his regular-season performance; he also boasts a remarkable postseason resume, including being named the 2021 World Series MVP.
The combination of his power-hitting and postseason experience makes him a valuable asset for any team looking to bolster their lineup, especially a team like the Red Sox, who are looking to improve their home run capabilities after finishing 18th in the major leagues in home runs last season.
