MLB Hands Out Massive Year-Long Suspension
Let this be a lesson to teams that aren't forthright and transparent with injury reports: Major League Baseball has suspended former New York Mets GM Billy Eppler for the entire 2024 season for violating injured list rules:

MLB says he "improperly" used the Injured List - including "deliberate fabrication of injuries." In addition, the "submission of documentation for the purposes of securing multiple improper injured list placements during the 2022 and 2023 seasons."
They also determined that Eppler acted alone, "without any involvement of Club ownership or superiors."
Eppler will be ineligible until the completion of the 2024 World Series. The former Mets GM cooperated with the investigation.
